Integration

ThynkFile + Zoho Books

Automated Compliance for Growing Businesses

Connect Zoho Books via secure OAuth, pull your Trial Balance directly, and generate Schedule III financial statements, XBRL, and a complete ROC filing package. No exports. No Excel. No XBRL vendors. The entire workflow is API-driven.

Who This Integration Is For

CA Firms Managing Zoho Clients

If your clients use Zoho Books for day-to-day accounting and send you their data for statutory compliance, ThynkFile eliminates the manual handoff. Connect to their Zoho organisation, pull the TB directly, and deliver the filing package without waiting for client-exported files.

Companies Using Zoho In-House

SMEs and startups running their books on Zoho often need help converting their Trial Balance into ROC-compliant filings. ThynkFile connects directly to Zoho Books, so your in-house accountant or outsourced CA can generate compliant statements without leaving the ThynkFile interface.

How It Works

API-first workflow. No manual file handling at any step.

1

Connect via OAuth

One-click authentication through Zoho's OAuth flow. Read-only access to Trial Balance data. Connection persists until you revoke it.

2

Pull Trial Balance

Select the Zoho Books organisation and financial period. ThynkFile pulls the TB via API, extracts GL lines, and applies Zoho account type metadata.

3

Auto-Map & Generate

The 3-layer classification engine maps GL names to Schedule III. Zoho account types serve as an additional signal. Review, confirm, and generate your filing package.

Zoho Books–Specific Capabilities

The Zoho integration goes beyond a simple data import. ThynkFile understands Zoho's data model and uses it to improve classification accuracy.

Direct API Connection

One-click OAuth authentication. ThynkFile pulls your Trial Balance directly from Zoho Books — no manual export, no CSV formatting, no file handling. The connection persists across periods.

Zoho Chart of Accounts Mapping

Zoho Books uses its own account type hierarchy (Income, Expense, Asset, Liability, Equity with sub-types). ThynkFile maps these Zoho account types to Schedule III taxonomy nodes as an additional classification signal.

Real-Time Sync

Pull an updated Trial Balance at any point during the period-end process. If your client posts late journal entries in Zoho, re-pull the TB and ThynkFile re-generates statements without losing your mapping corrections.

Multi-Organisation Support

CA firms managing multiple Zoho Books organisations can connect all of them from a single ThynkFile firm account. Each Zoho organisation maps to a separate company in ThynkFile.

Handles Zoho Custom Fields

If your client uses custom account fields in Zoho Books, ThynkFile preserves these as metadata during import. Custom fields do not interfere with the classification engine.

No Zoho Premium Required

The API connection works with all Zoho Books plans that include API access (Standard and above). No Zoho premium add-ons or marketplace apps are needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from CAs connecting Zoho Books to ThynkFile.

How do I connect my client's Zoho Books account?

From the ThynkFile dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations > Zoho Books and click "Connect". You will be redirected to Zoho's OAuth consent screen. Sign in with the Zoho account that has access to the organisation, grant read-only permissions, and the connection is established. ThynkFile only requests Trial Balance read access.

Does the CA need access to the client's Zoho account?

Yes, the connecting user needs at least Accountant or Admin role in the Zoho Books organisation. Alternatively, the client can initiate the OAuth connection themselves from a shared link that ThynkFile generates.

What if my client changes data in Zoho after I pull the TB?

Simply re-pull the Trial Balance. ThynkFile will re-import the latest data and re-run classification. Any manual mapping corrections you made previously are preserved as firm overrides — they are not lost on re-import.

Does ThynkFile modify any data in Zoho Books?

No. ThynkFile requests read-only API access. It pulls Trial Balance data and account metadata. It never writes, modifies, or deletes anything in the Zoho Books organisation.

Can I still upload a Zoho Books Excel export instead?

Yes. If you prefer not to use the API connection, you can export the Trial Balance from Zoho Books as Excel or CSV and drag-drop it into ThynkFile. The file upload path works identically — just without the convenience of direct API pull.

How is pricing structured for API-connected companies?

Pricing is identical regardless of how you import the Trial Balance — API pull or file upload. Plans start at approximately ₹79 per client on the annual plan. First 3 companies are free. Re-pulls for the same company and period do not incur additional charges.
